Write More, Sell More - Use A One Hour Interview to Generate Six Articles

Recently, I came across a beginning who allowed me to utilize the stuff from our interview as optimally as possible. The interview was only one hr long, taking topographic point at his office. At the clip of the interview, I was in the procedure of reviewing a mobile telephone about to be launched, so I decided to prove the photographic camera feature, including the still photographs and picture during the interview.

So what are the types of narratives that emerged out of the interview?

1. News article - This was a consecutive business-type narrative where I looked at the elaboratenesses of running his arrangement and the challenges he have to cover with. It was simple adequate to make as that was why we agreed to ran into in the first place.

2. Financial narrative - As the arrangement is government-funded, One was able to develop a narrative that specifically on a multimillion rand monetary fund his arrangement manages. If he ran a little concern enterprise, my narrative would have got been able to done a narrative on support tendencies in that sector. I would have got focussed on how easy/difficult it was to entree start-up funding, or venture working capital to expand. What are the procedures and challenges? How did he defeat them?

3. Profile feature- The chief executive officer drive the arrangement is new, but he's an economic expert with a strong development background. So I thought a profile of him would be interesting. The same rule would use if I was interviewing at stay-at-home-mum-cum -online enterprenuer. The ground you take to interview the individual is that he/she have done something interesting. Sometimes whatever it is they've done is the whole story. But sometimes, when you delve deeper, you happen an interesting person whose life is a narrative too.

4. The tool is a story - As I was using a new tool [mobile phone] in the interview, it made sense for the usage of the tool to be a narrative too.

So I did the telephone reappraisal as a separate article, as well as blogging about my experience using the phone. I also posted a short picture of our interview on my blog, highlighting some of the of import points I didn't utilize in my articles.

Sometimes the narrative about the tool is not easy to sell. But as a writer, you can state the narrative of the first clip you used a certain trade name of camera, or recording devise. You can even compose a column about running out of paper , a tape recording equipment Acts up during an interview or forgetting to change the tape while doing an interview. These are narratives that rate to be told, in the right forum.

5. Find an opinion/analysis angle/ societal commentary in the story - It was easy for me to happen societal commentary in this peculiar story, as the beginning trades with a societal development issue.

6. Find the "how to" in the story - This may be a consolidation of tips from your beginning on how to win as they have got or how to make something they do. Or it may be a step-by-step usher from you, gleaned from your usage of the information you gathered from the interview.

7. Write about your procedure - YesI cognize I said six stories, but the fillip narrative is that you can share your processes, and experiences as a writer. Maybe it will assist person compose faster, better their productivity.
